Estimating Costs
Itemise time by the base usage rate (BUR)
- per shoot
- single price
- low quoting to get the job, adding extras
Everything has to put into consideration, for example car, petrol, time, equipment, insurance, etc.
Avoid low quoting.
Equipment Charges
List it as digital capture/downloads/proofs
- equipment hire charge
- photography = time
- processing
- post production for professionals = $150 per hr
Terms of Trade
Ownership, cancellation, rejection, material copyright, postponement.
Percentage Markups
vary with jobs once equipment etc is paid for
Be a member of the AIPP and get the better business bible
If your estimate is over $8000 ask for a percentage upfront wth new clients.
