Sydney Trip

This post is a bit late and I didn't really take notes on the day but here's a bit about the places we visited.

GM Photographics

The owner, Graham Monro and his colleague talked a bit about the office, client consultations, mounting, how they present to the clients and a bit about how they shoot.

The company shoots mainly weddings and portraits, as well as fine art photography. GM Photographics also hold photography workshops where other professional photographers can go a long and discuss the industry, their own systems, marketing and many more topics.

The business is located in Mosman, Sydney. The office space includes lounge and screen for photo viewings, as well as examples of GM's work on the walls.

Below are some examples of GM Photographics's Wedding photography.

Studio Commercial

This was the second photographic business we stopped at. Studio Commercial are a marketing photographic company made up of around 6 photographers. The studio was quite large consisting of 2 cycs, a kitchen, lounge area and a post production area.

The talk given by Jason Doyle was quite interesting. He talked about the sort of clients the the company has dealt with as well as how the business started and a general day to day basis of what happens at Studio Commercial. I was really impressed by the studio space itself and how was organised everything was.

Below is a photo of the studio

Sun Studios

This was the last stop we made on the day. Sun Studios is located at Alexandria in Sydney. It includes studio hire for professional photographers, as well as equipment hire. We were given a tour of the building which included going into a few on the studios, as well as the shop and equipment storage area. Sun studios seemed to be well equipped with everything a professional photographer would need.

Below are some examples of the studio space available to rent out.
